KC Farmers Markets 2018

I love nothing better than getting out to KC’s many area farmers markets to select fresh, locally produced food! Here’s what we can look forward to this growing season:

Bonner Springs Farmers Market: Fresh produce, locally grown meats, dairy, and other specialty items. Open Saturdays, 8am-noon, May 5-Oct. 27; Kelly Murphy Park, Bonner Springs, Kansas 

Brookside Farmers Market: Farm-fresh, organic, local (within 100 miles) food. Saturdays, Apr 14-October, 8am-1pm; November, 9am-noon; 63rd St. & Wornall Road, KCMO

City Market: Dining, shopping, entertainment and special events throughout the season. April-October: Saturdays, 7am-3pm; Sundays, 9am-3pm; Wednesdays (June-August), 10am-2pm; November-March: 9am-3pm; 20 E 5th St., KCMO (at the heart of KC’s River Market)

KCK Farmers Markets: AKA KCK Green Market, this network of three KCK-area farmers markets features locally grown food, June-October, 7:30am-1pm: Tuesdays, Catholic Charities, 2220 Central Ave., KCK; Wednesdays, Health Department, 6th & Tauromee, KCK; Thursdays: KCK Community College, Campus Blvd & Argentine Ln., KCK

KC Organics and Natural Market: 100% organic, locally produced produce and artisanal products. Saturdays, May-Oct; 8am-12:30pm. Minor Park, just East of Holmes on Red Bridge Road (111th Street), KCMO

Lee’s Summit Farmers Market: Fresh produce, plants, meat, baked goods, and handmade crafts. Apr 7-Nov 17; Wednesdays and Saturdays, 7am until sold out. SE 2nd St & SE Douglas St, Lees Summit, MO

Lenexa Farmers Market: Fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, baked goods, flowers and other specialty items. 8am-noon Saturdays, Apr 21–Oct 27 & Tuesdays, May 29–Aug 28; Lenexa Civic Campus Parking Garage, 17201 W. 87th St. Pkwy., Lenexa, KS

Merriam Farmers Market: Baked goods, fresh produce and other specialty items. Saturdays, May 5–Sept 29,  7am–1pm; Wednesdays, June 6-August 29, 5-8pm. Merriam Marketplace, 5740 Merriam Drive, Merriam, KS 

Olathe Farmers Market: Fresh produce, plants, flowers and other specialty items. Saturdays, Apr 21-Oct 20; 7:30am until sold out; Wednesdays, May 9-Sep 26; 7:30am until sold out; Two locations: Stagecoach Park, 1205 E. Kansas City Road and Black Bob Park, 14500 W 151 St., Olathe, KS 

Overland Park Farmers Market: Fresh produce, locally grown meats and dairy, plants and special events. Saturdays, Apr 14-Sept 29, 7am-1pm; Wednesdays, May 16-Sept 26; 7:30am-1pm; Oct 6-Nov 17, 8am-1pm; 7950 Marty St., Overland Park, KS 

Raytown Farmers Market: Local, producer-only vendors offer fresh produce, baked goods, flowers, plants and other specialty items, plus live music. Saturdays, 9am-1pm; Opening day is May 6; East 62nd Raytown Road, Raytown, MO 

Shawnee Farmers Market: A variety of farm-fresh produce and specialty items. Saturdays, May-Oct, 7am-4pm; City Hall Parking Lot, Nieman Rd & Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS
