The National WWI Museum and Memorial presents the sixth annual Taps at the Tower each evening at sunset (8:45pm) June 16–22, 2019. People are invited to come and use the grounds each evening, have a picnic, play games and enjoy the outdoors. At sunset, people will gather at the Liberty Memorial Tower to experience Taps being played during a brief, moving ceremony. The event will occur rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Paul Sunderland Bridge inside the Museum and Memorial. For the first time, guests can ascend to the top of the Tower following the ceremony each evening to enjoy the view (weather permitting). There is no charge to go to the top of the Tower after the ceremony (donations are welcome), but guests should be in line by 9:45pm each evening.
