Easter Fun in Kansas City

Kids-easter

Easter is on Sunday and leading up to the day there are a ton of fun things you can do with your little ones besides just going to visit the Easter bunny. Here are a few cool things you can do this week before spending time with your extended family or heading to church.

Fun Easter Activities You Can Do at Home or Around Town

At Home:

Make Easter Baskets

This is a classic Easter-themed activity and baskets can be given to friends and family on Sunday. Although this activity can definitely get pricey, you can easily find supplies to make cute Easter baskets on the cheap. We suggest scouring dollar stores, thrift shops, and the always amazing dollar area at Target to find baskets and little knick-nacks. Have your kiddos draw pictures or do crafts to add into their baskets and write special notes to the recipients. This could easily turn into an awesome tradition that you do as a family every year!

Easter Egg Paper Wreath

You probably already have all of the supplies on hand to create these adorable Easter egg paper wreaths. All you have to do is cut a wreath shape out of construction paper, several egg shapes out in whatever colors you want and have the kids use markers, crayons, stickers, or glitter to decorate the eggs and attach them to the wreath with glue. This is a really easy craft activity that is virtually mess-free with the exception of some paper clean up – unless of course, you want to use glitter. You can then hang your wreaths up at home and Voila! You now have adorable, custom easter decorations!

Take Egg Dying up a Notch

Okay, chances are you have dyed eggs with the kids on Easter before, but there are some neat ways to up the egg dying game. You can make really neat designs using a variety of things while you are dying your eggs or after you dye your eggs. Older kids can use colored sharpies to draw funny faces or write little messages on their eggs. You can go to the craft store and find fun stickers for the younger ones to attach to their eggs. We also suggest picking some rickrack and attaching that to your eggs with tape before you dye them to get a really neat effect!
