Amusement Parks in KC

Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun

It’s hard to believe summer break is halfway over for many of our kids around town. If you haven’t had a chance to go yet, be sure to plan a summertime excursion to Worlds of FunPlanet Snoopy, which is perfect for the little ones, has expanded with 5 new rides this year, including Snoopy’s Space Buggies, Linus’ Launcher, and Woodstock Gliders. If Planet Snoopy is where you are headed, be sure to watch the video above.

Dinosaurs Alive! has 35 life-sized moving dinosaurs, and (believe it or not) lots of educational fun. And other family-friendly rides include longtime faves the Finnish Fling, Flying Dutchman and LeTaxi Tour. These old-timers offered a fun trip down memory lane for me too! Of course, if you have adventure seekers, there are still plenty of thrill rides, including SteelHawk, Mamba, Fury of the Nile, and RipCord (be sure to check out height requirements before you go).

Your ticket price also allows you into Oceans of Fun, which you can read more about in our Water Parks listing from a few weeks ago.

Tickets start at $39.99 for advance online ticket purchase, and there are various ticket discounts and options available, so be sure to check online before you go. Worlds of Fun is open now through October 30. Click here for hours of operation.

Legoland Discovery Center and Sea Life Aquarium

For some indoor fun, Legoland Discovery Center and Sea Life Aquarium at Crown Center are a sure bet for fun (and even some education, but don’t tell the kids). SeaLife Aquarium has more than 5,000 sea creatures on display, touch pools, and much more to explore. Upcoming special events include Shark Week (July 11-17, 2016), and SeaLife Summer Camp (July 18-22, 2016).

Legoland has more than 3 million LEGO® bricks to look at and play with, not to mention the Kingdom Quest and Merlin’s Apprentice rides, and master model builder classes. Plus, the addition of The Lego Movie 4D A New Adventure is sure to be a hit with all of your kiddos!

Single attraction tickets start at $14.50 online, or purchase a combination package and explore Legoland and Sea Life in one day. You can also now expand your amusement horizons with a combo pass for Legoland and Schlitterbahn!
